Singapore Employment Pass

The Employment Pass (EP) is a work permit issued by Singapore for foreign professionals (managers, supervisors, or professionals). It is typically granted to experienced professionals, managers, administrative executives, project experts, and similar roles.

The Employment Pass (EP) is usually valid for a period of 1-2 years and can be renewed before its expiry.

Application Criteria

1. Salary: From 5,000 SGD (5,500 SGD for the financial industry).

2. Qualifications: Minimum COMPASS score of 40 points.

3. Permanent Residency for Immediate Family Members:

  • While holding an Employment Pass (EP) and earning a monthly salary of over 6,000 SGD, the applicant’s spouse and children under 21 years old can apply for a Dependant’s Pass (DP).
  • If the applicant’s monthly salary exceeds 12,000 SGD, their parents can apply for a Long Term Visit Pass (LTVP).
  • When applying for Permanent Residency (PR) under an EP, the applicant’s spouse and children under 21 years old can be included as dependents in the PR application.
  • Parents and children over 21 years old cannot apply for PR together but may apply for a Long Term Visit Pass (LTVP).

 

Self-Employment Options

1. Acquire or merge with an established company by purchasing part or all of its shares or entity, and employ yourself as an executive to qualify for an EP application.

2. Singapore self-employment immigration allows you to start your own company, employ yourself as an executive, and apply for an EP.

Specific salary standards for positions can be referenced from the PMET (Salary Guidelines) published by the Ministry of Manpower.

Meeting the COMPASS scoring criteria is sufficient.

There is no formal quota requirement. Each application is reviewed by the authorities based on the employer’s and applicant’s information.

Dependant’s Pass (DP): A salary above 6,000 SGD allows for the application of a Dependant’s Pass, while a salary above 12,000 SGD enables the application for a Long Term Visit Pass (LTVP) for parents. Eligibility for Singapore Permanent Residency (PR): You can directly apply for PR and include your dependants in the application.
