Malaysia My Second Home (West Malaysia)
On June 14, 2024, the Malaysian government officially announced the detailed framework for the new Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) program in West Malaysia. The new framework categorizes the program into three tiers (Platinum, Gold, and Silver) along with an Economic/Financial Special Zone category. Each tier has different application requirements, visa validity periods, and benefits.
Application Requirements:
Applicants must be from countries that have established diplomatic relations with Malaysia.
25 years old or above
Whether applying for the first time or renewing the pass, all processes must be handled through the MM2H One-Stop Center.
Allowed to receive long-term medical treatment in Malaysia.
MM2H participants' children are allowed to study at any higher education institution (IPT) in Malaysia that is accredited by the Malaysian government.
Reside in Malaysia for at least 90 days within a year (can be accumulated).
Funds brought in, such as fixed deposits, are exempt from taxes.
If an MM2H participant passes away, their pass can be transferred to a designated next of kin.
After a successful application, participants and their family members are required to undergo a medical examination at a designated clinic or hospital. This measure ensures that all participants receive standardized services and fees.
[Platinum Tier]
- Fixed deposit of $1 million USD
- Participation fee of 200,000 MYR
- Purchase property valued at over 2 million MYR
- Allowed to bring foreign domestic helpers
- Permitted to engage in business, investment activities, and employment in Malaysia
- Pass validity of 20 years
[Gold Tier]
- Fixed deposit of 500,000 MYR
- Participation fee of 3,000 MYR
- Purchase property valued at over 1 million MYR
- Pass validity of 15 years
[Silver Tier]
- Fixed deposit of 150,000 MYR
- Participation fee of 1,000 MYR
- Purchase property valued at over 600,000 MYR
- Pass validity of 5 years
[Economic/Financial Special Zone Tier]
- Age 21 and above
- Fixed deposit: [Ages 21-49] — $65,000 USD; [Ages 50 and above] — $32,000 USD
- Property purchase: The minimum price is determined by the property policies of the relevant state
- Participation fee: 1,000 MYR
- Pass validity: 10 years
- Not allowed to engage in business, investment, or employment in Malaysia
- Children can complete higher education at Malaysian government-recognized institutions
- Allowed to receive long-term medical treatment in Malaysia
- After MM2H visa approval, up to 50% of the fixed deposit can be withdrawn for the purchase of property, education, medical expenses, and tourism activities in Malaysia
