Flash Alert — U.S. Pauses Immigrant Visa Processing for 75 Countries
The U.S. State Department has confirmed that it will pause the processing of immigrant visas (permanent residence / green card category) for nationals of 75 countries, effective 21 January 2026. The pause applies only to immigrant visas. Non-immigrant visas such as visitor, business and student visas are not officially suspended.
⚠️ Important: As of today, the U.S. government has not released an official public list of the 75 countries. The list below is compiled solely from multiple major media reports citing internal State Department guidance, and should be treated as informational only.
